Gem Siege
Privacy policy
Gem Siege is a single-player game. It has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking. This page explains the little data that does move, and why.
In short
- We don't collect personal data. Gem Siege has no sign-up, no servers of our own, and sends nothing to Nerd Powered.
- Your progress stays with you. Scores, crystals, unlocked towers and your loadout are stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account.
- Leaderboards use Game Center. If you are signed in to Game Center, your best score is sent to Apple's Game Center so it can be ranked with your friends and other players.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling of data. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not ask for the Tracking permission.
Data stored on your device
Gem Siege keeps your best score, crystal balance, unlocked towers and tower loadout in the app's own storage on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes this data from the device.
iCloud
If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive enabled, the same progress is mirrored to Apple's iCloud key-value storage under your Apple Account, so that it is restored when you reinstall the app or play on another of your devices. This data is stored by Apple, in your account, and is not visible to Nerd Powered. You can turn this off for all apps under Settings › your name › iCloud, and remove it by deleting the app's data from iCloud.
Game Center
Gem Siege uses Apple's Game Center for leaderboards. When you are signed in to Game Center, the app:
- submits your best score to the "High Score" leaderboard;
- reads the leaderboard to show rankings, including your Game Center nickname and the nicknames and scores of your Game Center friends and other players.
Who can see your nickname and score is controlled by your Game Center profile settings in iOS Settings, not by Gem Siege. If you are not signed in to Game Center, the leaderboard simply isn't shown and nothing is sent. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
TestFlight betas
If you install a beta through TestFlight, Apple may share crash logs and any feedback you choose to send through TestFlight with us. That feedback is handled under Apple's TestFlight terms, and we use it only to fix and improve the game.
Children
Gem Siege is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- Stop leaderboard submissions: sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings.
- Stop iCloud sync: turn off iCloud Drive for the app in iOS Settings.
- Erase everything: delete the app, and remove its iCloud data from Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Changes
If the game ever starts handling data differently, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
